EOP (Educational Opportunity Program)

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is designed to assist students who are historically disadvantaged because of their economic and educational backgrounds. EOP serves California residents who meet stated admissions requirements, as well as those who may not qualify for regular admission but who demonstrate potential to succeed at the university level. EOP applicants must meet low-income guidelines as designated in the EOP section of CSUMentor and must show need of financial and academic assistance.

The EOP process has three parts:

  1. Apply for admission to SJSU via www.csumentor.edu. If you wish to be considered as an EOP applicant, check the EOP box on the CSUMentor application.
  2. Complete the online EOP application located on the CSUMentor website.
  3. You must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for consideration to EOP.

If you are admitted to SJSU and you also qualify for EOP, you will receive additional support services from the university.

For details, see www.sjsu.edu/eop.
